About this Tyvek bag

The Tyvek Mailer Envelope is the sustainable shipping solution for direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands, apparel companies and e-commerce sellers who want to eliminate plastic poly mailers without sacrificing protection. Made from genuine DuPont Tyvek Type 14, this mailer is tear-resistant (it literally cannot be ripped by hand), water-repellent (contents stay dry in rain and during wet sorting), and at just 35 grams, it adds negligible weight to shipping costs.

The peel-and-seal adhesive closure provides a secure, tamper-evident seal that eliminates the need for tape — simply peel the release liner and press to seal. The 26 × 34 cm dimension fits t-shirts, hoodies (folded), accessories, cosmetics, books and most standard e-commerce items. Unlike plastic mailers that persist in the environment for centuries, Tyvek is 100% recyclable through standard paper recycling streams, making it a powerful sustainability story for your brand. What makes it durable

Material: Genuine DuPont Tyvek Type 14 (14 lb / 48 gsm), a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) fiber-based material that combines the best properties of paper, film and fabric. Tyvek is tear-resistant, water-repellent, breathable, bacteria-resistant and 100% recyclable. It has a unique crinkled texture that becomes softer with handling. Closure: permanent acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) with silicone-coated release liner — peel-and-seal, tamper-evident. Printing: supports offset lithography, screen printing and flexography. Full-color CMYK offset printing available for photographic-quality artwork. All Tyvek is sourced directly from DuPont authorized distributors with material traceability certificates available on request.

Is Tyvek really recyclable? How?

Yes. Tyvek is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) fibers and is 100% recyclable through standard paper recycling streams (it is classified as a paper-like material). Most curbside recycling programs accept Tyvek. It can also be returned to DuPont's Tyvek recycling program for commercial volumes.

How does Tyvek compare to plastic poly mailers?

Tyvek mailers are tear-resistant (cannot be ripped by hand), water-repellent, recyclable, and have a premium paper-like texture. Plastic poly mailers are cheaper but are not easily recyclable, tear more easily, and contribute to plastic pollution. Tyvek adds approximately 15–25% to mailer cost but provides a strong sustainability brand story and better unboxing experience.

What is the maximum weight this mailer can hold?

The 26 × 34 cm Tyvek mailer safely holds up to 2 kg (4.4 lbs) of contents. The tear-resistant Tyvek material and strong adhesive closure ensure secure shipping for apparel, accessories and similar weight items.

Can I print full-color photographic artwork on these mailers?

Yes. Full-color CMYK offset printing produces photographic-quality results on Tyvek. Edge-to-edge bleed printing is available. Minimum order for full-color offset printing is 500 pieces. For smaller orders, screen printing (up to 4 colors) is available with a 100-piece minimum.

Are these mailers waterproof?

Tyvek is water-repellent — it sheds water and prevents moisture from reaching contents in normal shipping conditions (rain, wet sorting facilities). It is not fully submersible waterproof, but for e-commerce shipping purposes it provides excellent moisture protection far superior to paper mailers.
