At 14oz (475 gsm), this is the heaviest canvas in our range — the waxed-cotton finish develops a unique patina over time, giving each bag a lived-in character that improves with age.

The flap-over design with secure buckle closure keeps contents protected from rain and spills, while the adjustable cotton webbing shoulder strap (up to 120 cm) fits all body types. Under the flap, an organizer panel with multiple slip pockets keeps phone, pens, cards and cables accessible. The interior features a dedicated padded laptop sleeve fitting up to 14-inch laptops, plus a main compartment for documents, notebooks and a change of clothes.

What makes it durable

Body: 14oz (475 gsm) 100% cotton canvas with optional waxed finish. The waxed coating is a food-safe paraffin-beeswax blend that provides water resistance and develops a unique patina — it can be re-waxed to restore water resistance. Strap: 38 mm wide cotton webbing with antique brass metal adjuster buckle. Flap closure: antique brass side-release buckle with leather tab. Laptop sleeve: 5 mm high-density foam padding covered in cotton sheeting, with Velcro retention strap. Hardware: all metal hardware is antique brass plated for a vintage aesthetic. OEKO-TEX certified throughout.

What size laptop fits in the padded sleeve?

The dedicated padded sleeve fits laptops up to 14 inches (35.5 cm diagonal). Larger 15.6-inch laptops can fit in the main compartment but will not have dedicated sleeve padding. Custom sleeve sizes are available for orders above 200 pieces.

Is the waxed canvas waterproof?

Waxed canvas is water-resistant (not fully waterproof). It will shed light rain and spills, but prolonged heavy rain may cause moisture to seep through. The wax coating can be re-applied periodically to restore water resistance. For fully waterproof bags, see our Tyvek Tote Bag or Tyvek Backpack.

How do I clean and maintain the waxed canvas?

Waxed canvas should not be machine washed or dry cleaned. Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry. Over time, the wax may wear in high-friction areas — re-wax with our recommended wax bar using a hair dryer to melt and evenly distribute the wax.

Can the shoulder strap be removed?

The standard strap is permanently attached with metal D-rings. A removable strap with swivel clips is available as a custom option for an additional charge.
